takoda is a guitarist, vocoderist, & producer native to Santa Ana and currently based in Los Angeles.
takoda has released several bodies of work on Minaret. Starting off with a short debut EP Place for Them(12.18.20), featuring Henry Solomon & Logan Kane, followed by Die in the Process (9.8.21), a collaborative beat-tape with San Antonio, TX beatmaker/producer/keyboardist 40hands. His first solo album, Foglake Forever, explored the bizarreness/intricacies of grief following the tragic passing of a close friend, and was released May 18, 2022. After that came a collab album with producer daniel hayn called Together Tomorrow, released November 22nd, 2024.
His forthcoming album Throne Beneath the Sky, out July 31st, reimagines a classic hero’s journey, following a nervous prince’s transformation into a king through a twisting story of ambition, loss, self-discovery and redemption. Releasing in four chapters on consecutive Fridays in July (10th, 17th, 24th, 31st), each chapter reveals a new stage of our protagonist’s journey while presenting a distinct musical arc & feel.
